Shagaya Renewable Energy Park

The Shagaya Renewable Energy Park was created as part of Kuwait's ambitious plan to generate 15% of its energy by using renewable sources by 2030. Phase 1 of the plan was developed by KISR and consists of a 50 MW CSP plant, 10 MW PV, and 10 MW Wind.

Concentrated Solar Power

The CSP plant consists of a 50 MW high pressure/low pressure steam turbine, a solar field comprising of 206 loops of parabolic trough collectors (SKAL-ET), and 10 hours of two tank molten salt thermal energy storage.
